Highlights from OneArena 2024 Day 1

Welcome to OneArena 2024!

The day started with participants arriving early to register. Teams from different Junior Colleges gathered at LT19 at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for registration.

The opening ceremony was kickstarted by Chur Hang (President) and Kok Yang (Programmes Head ) briefing participants on Day 1's agenda.

Amazing Race

The Amazing Race was a vibrant start of the day. Teams faced different challenges which tested their robotic knowledge and teamwork.

They moved from one station to another, trying to complete tasks. The race was full of excitement as teams tried to beat the clock and show what their robots could do.

School Tour OneArena isn't just about the competition; it's an all-encompassing experience that merges learning, networking, and exploration. As teams took turns to explore the vibrant campus at NTU under the guidance of our facilitators, they discovered innovative design of The Hive, the sustainability-focused Gaia, facilities of different schools... and many canteens at NTU, too!

HTX Talk

The HTX talk was a big highlight,too. HTX is the first of its kind Science and Technology Agency in the world that brings together science and engineering capabilities across the Home Team Departments to transform the homeland security landscape and keep Singapore safe.  

Our guest speaker Jerryl Neo, Engineer and Maritime Systems RAUS CoE from HTX engaged the participants with interesting discussions, leaving everyone thinking about new possibilities.
